Interpretive signs on a wildlife refuge

Today I was honored to be invited to the opening ceremony for the newest trail on the Vieques Wildlife Refuge. I was recognized for the photos used in the new interpretive panels added to one of the best viewing towers on the island.

The panels were designed by TICATOVE and the trail and observation tower were sponsored by the Puerto Rico Tourism Company and United States Fish & Wildlife, who were both represented during the ceremony.

This was a horse trail that I biked for years but it was hard to get to and was closed while the Navy performed its bombing exercises. When the Navy left I submitted a proposal for a series of nature trails that I routinely took tourists on for bike tours. This was the completion of the first of those trails.

I am very proud and honored to have my photos displayed at one of my favorite spots in all of Vieques Island!
